The brand-new speaker comes with an IP65 dust and water splash resistance, so it can withstand rain like a pro. It’s also perfect for listening to music while the kids splash around with water guns—you don’t need to worry about them ruining the speaker.
What to Expect from IKEA’s Vappeby Bluetooth Speaker Lamp
The speaker lamp will be available to buy starting in April for $64.99. It has a height of 10 inches and a diameter of seven inches so it won’t take over the whole table. Plus, if you want, you can even hang it up as it is similar to a lamp in design.
Vappeby can provide up to 12 hours of music streaming, although IKEA hasn’t made it clear yet if that’s with the light turned on or not. You can charge it via a USB-C cable, while a USB power adapter will be available for purchase separately.
How Does Spotify Tap Work
Spotify Tap was introduced in 2021, and it has so far been available with a series of Bluetooth headphones from the likes of Skullcandy, Samsung, and Bose. IKEA’s Vappeby is the first speaker to take on this feature, a cool addition to an already impressive list of IKEA speakers.
The Vappeby IKEA speaker lamp will connect to your device via Bluetooth and you can listen to whatever content you want with it. However, it has a special Spotify feature to play with. The extra button you’ll see on the lamp is the Spotify Tap which generates music based on your taste.
If you don’t feel like listening to whatever song it started playing, just press the button and move on to the next one. If you’re a subscriber, make sure to take a look at other Spotify tips and tricks to make the most out of the service.
It’s a playful feature to have at your disposal and it’s great that it comes in an affordable package from IKEA.
