In case you didn’t know…

Fenix and Pentagon Jr. are actually brothers in real-life. Both Pentagon and Fenix made their professional wrestling debut in 2007. Pentagon (age 33) is the older brother by nearly six years over Fenix (age 27).

The heart of the matter

The tag match will have an interesting dynamic on a couple of levels. As previously mentioned, it will be brother v. brother, but it’s far from the first time they have competed against each other.

Based on recent events on Impact Wrestling, Alberto El Patron is trying to position himself as the next contender to the Impact Global Heavyweight Championship against Austin Aries. It’s a title that Alberto never lost, but was stripped of following a suspension in August.

Also scheduled to compete in the Impact Wrestling vs Lucha Underground card are:

Impact World Tag Team Champions LAX v. Da Mack and KillshotDJZ, Andrew Everett, & Desmond Xavier v. Aerostar, King Cuerno, & DragoEddie Edwards v. Jeremiah Crane (aka Sami Callihan) - I Quit Match

What’s next?

Impact Wrestling vs Lucha Underground will take place in just a little over two weeks on 6 April from The Sugar Mill in New Orleans, Louisiana. That will be on the Friday before WrestleMania.

Author’s take

This tag match is definitely worthy of the main event spot on any card. Seeing Pentagon tag with Alberto El Patron will be a treat for sure. Everyone knows El Patron, and Pentagon is probably the most popular luchador on Lucha Underground.

Not to be outdone on the other side, Fenix is a tremendous talent who I’ve enjoyed watching on Lucha Underground and the number of titles in Austin Aries’ possession does all the talking for him there.
